Mayra joined Building State Capability in 2021 as a Teaching Assistant (TA) for the Implementing Public Policy Executive Program. She also served as a TA for the PDIA in Papua New Guinea and the Bloomberg Harvard Cross-Boundary Collaboration Program and completed the PDIA in Action class (MLD103M) while at HKS.
Prior to joining BSC, she worked as the Director for International Affairs of the National Commission for Indigenous Peoples in Mexico. In addition, she helped bridge the gap with the federal government from the private sector to improve social protection, help develop local economies, and empower vulnerable populations.
She holds a Master in Public Policy (MPP) from the Harvard Kennedy School (HKS) and a BA in Political Science and Public Administration and International Affairs from Universidad de Monterrey. Her professional interest focuses on gender equality and economic inclusion in international development.
