Gauri Nagpal
Former Communications/Design Assistant
Gauri Nagpal is an urbanist interested in informality, housing, and land policy. She recently completed her graduate studies at the Harvard Graduate School of Design and served as Communications/Design Assistant for BSC from 2021 – 2023.
Her work pertains to workers’ land and property rights in the urban informal sector. Previously, she was a fellow at the Indian Institute for Human Settlements (IIHS) where she conducted various projects with a focus on evictions and food security. She is currently working with the City Hall of Rio de Janeiro on a new master plan and social housing policy. She continues to build her research and practice around iterative processes of designing objects, spaces, and cities in the Global South.
