Ana Rocío Castillo Romero is a former Teaching Assistant for Building State Capability. She served as a TA for our Leading Economic Growth Executive Program as well as the PDIA for Education Systems Program (September 2022 – May 2023).
She completed the Master of Public Administration in International Development (MPA/ID) program at the Harvard Kennedy School. She was a professional intern in a consultancy firm in economic studies and her main professional experience has been in the public sector in Peru. First, i) in the Ministry of Education as coordinator of capital budget, then ii) in the Ministry of Economy and Finance in two National Bureaus: in Public Budget as an advisor of the General Director and in charge of the Transports and Communications sector, and later in the National Bureau of Public Investment, as manager of the Investment Fund for Territorial Development and of the Direction of Public Investment Policies. Finally, in the 2021, she was appointed Director of the Statistical Office in the Ministry of Transport and Communications, in charge of implementing strategies of data governance, open data and data analytics.
